How to VPN — for the paranoid

I stumbled across a VPN script via HackerNews (I think). https://github.com/Nyr/openvpn-install?files=1

It worked as advertised on my Ubuntu 14.04 DigitalOcean server.

It even out of the box forwards ALL local traffic through the VPN, which is what a paranoid person should want.

How to proceed

  1. Needless to say, get yer self a small VPS or server at Linode, DigitalOcean or Amazon AWS,etc.
  2. Install Tunnelblick
  3. Download the .ovpn file from the setup
  4. Use this file.
  5. Profit from a more secure internet connection in public places.

Done.
